YASOU
Young, Aggressive, Sincere, Organized and United
YASOU embodies the desire of established members in the Greek community to pass on the
strength of an organized and united Greek community to each successive generation.
At some point in every young person's life they ask themselves, Who am I? In a
village or on an island in Greece, children knew exactly where they were from and everyone
did things in a similar way. There was a sense of community.
In the United States, people often don't know who lives right next door to them.
Community is established through other methods, such as heritage or religion. YASOU
provides another vehicle for community when a young Greek asks, Who am I and what does it
mean to be Greek? In real terms YASOU accomplishes this by providing resources for finding
Greek Orthodox Churches, Greek language instruction, Greek dance groups and Greek food.
More importantly, however, YASOU provides a resource for education grants, Church grants
and business relationships among members of the Greek community.
