YASOU is working
to foster the Hellenic cultural heritage in the United States of America by organizing and
sponsoring charitable and educational activities and events for the benefit of people of
Hellenic origin and of the general public.
Individuals, students, businesses and families may join YASOU by
calling1-800-700-2475 ext.105 or ext. 117. Remember to say you're calling about

types of memberships.
YASOU will also provide assistance in technology training seminars,
where members of the Greek community may come and learn about new technology in a
comfortable, multi-lingual, non-threatening, community environment.

In addition to the regular posted material by YASOU staff, members of
the Greek community with computer access may place free notifications about baptisms,
weddings, anniversaries, charity events or other happenings of interest to and related to
the Greek community. In the future, this section will also provide Greek personal ads and
chat rooms.

Church Events!
With the computers provided by YASOU, Greek Orthodox Churches will be
able to access and update information about their church. Each church will have their own
content area where they may list their monthly calendar of events, liturgy schedule,
contact information, and parish council information. Furthermore, information about dance
groups, Greek language instruction, GOYA events, festivals or choir groups will not only
appear in each church content area, but also in the main YASOU index of local Greek
resources. Churches may also provide baptism, wedding or special ceremony dates and
information.

YASOU will provide a central news section where Internet users can find
out about newsworthy events in the Greek community. Links to sources for news about
Greece, the Archdiocese and Greek business information will be provided.

YASOU will also provide information about Greek dance groups, Greek
language instruction, church festivals, choir groups, Greek concerts, trips to Greece and
a complete directory of local Greek Orthodox churches in its main section. Businesses will
be allowed a listing in the YASOU database consisting of their name, address, telephone
number and contact person for free, however this will not qualify them as a YASOU Member.
